Change is Coming (ChiC)
Change is Coming (ChiC) is an online initiative that encourages recognition of the power and responsibility of individuals in responding to, and instigating, change. We work towards a world where people have a clear and full understanding of the social environmental impacts of their voting, spending, and other consumer decisions. We believe that the way to achieve this is through the use of creative and collaborative action.
Change is Coming (ChiC) is made up of a small group of enthusiastic volunteers who have been working since 2007 online and offline, with a hope to inspire others through creative thinking and collaborative action.
ChiC started life as an awareness-raising site back in 2006 PAIC (Pre 'An Inconveniant Truth'). However, from early on, ChiC's main project has been EnviroWiki.org.uk with which we hope to work alongside the existing environmental movement to structure and unify information for those making their first 'green' steps.
On the ChiC website you can find introductory information about the science and politics of climate change, alongside brief explanations of how to calculate and address your carbon footprint. In addition, you can find information about Change is Coming campaigns, events and merchandise, with details of how you can get involved.
Over the coming few months, ChiC will be looking to life beyond geeky wikis (in practise though never in spirit), with a new focus on Copyleft Campaigns.
Although primarily based online, when the members of Change is Coming do meet in person it tends to be in London.
